Jimmy has been named as a Lead Artist in the upcoming community art project, "Pieces of Texas Project".

The Katy Contemporary Art Musuem (KCAM) presents a co-op project entitled, “Pieces of Texas”. The artistic theme is centered around re-purposing and revitalizing. Local artists and architects will jointly “make something” from discarded wood, plastic and metal, which will become part of the KCAM permanent collection. This endeavor entitled the "PIECES OF TEXAS PROJECT" fuses together the creativity of artist in the greater Houston area.

Lead artists who will construct this artistic statement include Jimmy Houston, Felipe Lopez, Lee Benner, Mark Deleon, Roberta Harris, and Anuska Martinez.
'PIECES OF TEXAS PROJECT' resembles Houston, the most diverse city in the country where nothing is impossible and distances are measured in hours…”, states KCAM Museum Director and Curator Ana Villaronga-Roman. “The arts in the city and in the "burbs" are alive and here is the proof!

Artists living in Katy, Cypress, West Houston, Sugar Land along with the greater Houston metropolitan area are now engaged and getting involved due to the partnership between KCAM and the Houston Fine Art Fair.”

After the debut of the "PIECES OF TEXAS PROJECT" at the HFAF, a tour is in place for the prodigious sculpture starting at La Centerra Cinco Ranch. The final stop will be at No Label Brewery.
